I was in the Nisei Week Grand Parade again this year (2014).  I still love cosplaying classic tokusatsu characters, so I went as Henshin Ninja Arashi!  It almost didn't happen at all though.  I was running soooooo late (still gluing my costume in the car on the way down to Los Angeles), I had to literally jog (in costume) to the truck which had already started moving along the parade route!  NEVER want to do that again, so I'm starting on my next costume for Nisei Week 2015 as soon as possible!

2012 is zooming by, people!  Just attended the annual Nisei Week Festival in Little Tokyo, Downtown Los Angeles where I participate in the Grand Parade.  Each year I create a costume in order to cosplay at Anime Expo in L.A., but I also wear the costume in the parade as a favor to the owner of Anime Jungle.  Last year I appeared at AX and Nisei Week as Magma Taishi.  This time I was Kaiketsu Lion-Maru!  Old-school tokusatsu rules!

2012 has not started off very well for me, but things can only go up from here, right?  My husband and I have a New Year's Day tradition.  We like to spend the day in Little Tokyo (Downtown Los Angeles) each January 1st.  I ended getting a raging migraine, so this was the first time in 10 years we could not go to Little Tokyo.  Bummer!  We've already decided to go some other time, but still, it's just not the same as celebrating the New Year in our favorite part of LA.  Oh well, stuff happens!
